VSP's Running Team

On your marks, get set, go!

VSP's employees got the message:

Sports keep you in shape and healthy, boost the staff's team spirit and, in this context, of course contribute to a positiv working atmosphere. And, as we all know, right now in the upcoming winter time, outdoor activities outside the office are an important balance to the desk work.

It was about one year ago, when some "sports aces" amongst VSP's staff arranged to meet for a regular running training. So Anita Fahning (Sales), Heidi Fierke (Purchase), Gabriele Malsy (Print Production), Kay Fleischmann (EDP Services) and Torsten Steinbart (IT) became the VSP Running Team.

To prove their athletic performance, the team attended the 6th annual "Banzkower Zweibrückenlauf" (10 kilometers) on September 27th, for their first official competition together. Due to the upcoming joy of motherhood, Gabi Malsy replaced her running shoes with her camera and kept hold of the most thrilling moments for VSP's photo album. Among approx. 120 runners, the VSP jocks kept at the front middle field. Doesn't that sound like good standings?!

Those positive results gave that much motivation to our sportsmen, they have already signed up for numerous competitions in 2009. Of course we will keep you up to date about this events and their hopefully ongoing positive results for our team on the VSP website. The greatest award for the sporting activities would be a growth in the number of team members. Marko Rackow, one of our ink-jet printer operators, has already shown his interest in the running team. Who knows, who else will toe the scratch next year?

Certainly, the positive influence and success of the running team have reached the management's ears. Spontaneously, the management decided to equip all runners with premium, green-colored running shirts and to bear the entry fees. Our "sports aces" give their best thanks, and needless to say, they will do their best when time is ripe again for:
